Abstract
Quantifying the Antarctica ice loss is important for predicting sea level rise and climate change. Geothermal heat flux is an important boundary condition for modeling the thermomechanical conditions at the ice-bedrock interface. Direct measurements of heat flux are rare across Antarctica, but are abundant in north America and Europe. We develop and validate a method to estimate heat flux by assimilating measurements elsewhere with similar seismic structures to Antarctica.
