Abstract

NOAA@NSIDC manages and distributes cryospheric datasets to over 20,000 annual users for research, education, and commercial use. Through user support and engagement tracking, we optimize data accessibility and utility. Analysis of user interactions with our key datasets reveals usage patterns across disciplines. Based on recent help desk inquiries, we present user profiles for our most accessed datasets: the Sea Ice Index (Arctic/Antarctic sea ice extent), SNODAS (daily snowpack), and IMS (Northern Hemisphere snow/ice analysis). These profiles showcase cross-disciplinary applications while identifying product strengths and limitations. User feedback demonstrates our support effectiveness and data value. This assessment highlights the importance of quality data access and technical support in cryospheric research.
