. Using the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite Solar UltraViolet Imager to Observe the Solar Corona

Abstract
The dataset of solar imagery from the Solar UltraViolet Imager (SUVI) aboard the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES), R-series will span four instruments across four operational GOES satellites: GOES-16, -17, and the upcoming GOES-T and -U. These missions are provisioned to provide operational data to the National Weather service through 2036. The data from the SUVI instruments not only serve to aid the National Weather Service in forecasting the space environment, but is also capable of informing research into the dynamic solar corona. We present here the capabilities of the SUVI instrument, some notable characteristics, and ways to access the SUVI data.
